Biography
Brecht De Cock (1999) is a Belgian artist and filmmaker currently residing and working in Brussels, Belgium. His practice centers around process and experimentation, with a focus on film, animation and intermedia. The artist’s work has been recognized and exhibited internationally. His graduation project earned screenings at prestigious film festivals such as the Montréal Festival du Nouveau Cinéma, Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and 25 FPS International Experimental Film and Video Festival, among others. At the Ibrida festival delle arti intermediali in Forli he won the Fabrica Award for an artist under 25, leading to an international artistic residency at Fabrica Research Centre (Treviso).
Educationally, Brecht completed his Master of Arts in Audiovisual Arts at LUCA School of Arts, Sint-Lukas Brussels, specializing in animation, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Cultural Studies at KU Leuven.
He is a founding member and director of Field Collective.
